New Erythronium Introduction!

Just a little teaser here to let you all know that the harvest is finished and the catalog is being finalized, It's a great list this year with over 125 different species and selections being offered. The standout this year is no doubt going to be the newest introduction from Diana Reeck's, Erythronium selections, below is a picture and the description, you are going to want to order fast as these will sell out quick i'm sure..

Erythronium 'Best In Show'

This Erythronium revolutum hybrid is a real beauty with large pink flowers on strong stems to 10” or more.  The flowers have delicate brown markings at the base of the each tepal, with a flush of green on the back. There are usually 3 (sometimes more) to a stem when it is mature. The large  leaves have a distinctive pattern of green and brown with strong silver veining.  This form has heavy substance and is an excellent increaser.  A real standout.

You can only get it at illahe rare bulbs right now so be the first to have this amazing addition to your garden! The selections that Diana has made are wonderful garden plants, they offset unbelievably fast to make beautiful garden displays.

So as mentioned the catalog is being buttoned up and hopefully off to the printer by the end of this week, check your inbox. If you want an electronic copy sent email make sure to send me your address to illaherarebulbs@gmail.com. A big thanks goes out to Joleen Schilling who jumped in and helped me with the harvest despite the 90 degree plus heat. It's been a doozy of summer.

I mentioned I'm shortanded this year as my long devoted nursery hand and daughter is slinging pizza's at the local craft place trying to save up for college. She will be helping me fill orders in the am and working double shifts. I know it's easy to come down on that generation was raised via the iphone and ipad, with constant digital inputs. But there are some good ones in that rat pack and the kiddo being willing to get up early to fill bulb orders before putting in a double shift for minimum wages and tips shows that some of that generation is willing to try. It's up to our generation to make sure they are given opportunities to try to save this blue ball we are riding on.

Look for the catalog chock full of treasures by the end of the week!

Cheers,

Mark
